This development marks a new phase for the company, which specialises in electronic maritime security and surveillance solutions, and supports the group’s growth ambitions.
Until now, Geoffroy Lacoin had been serving as Chief Executive of both Marinelec and ENAG. This transitional arrangement had been put in place pending the appointment of a dedicated CEO for Marinelec. From now on, Geoffroy Lacoin will devote himself fully to his role as Chief Executive of ENAG whilst retaining the chairmanship of Marinelec.
"Frédéric’s appointment is in line with the strategy pursued since the creation of the Francbord Group. His knowledge of our business lines, teams and clients is a real asset in supporting Marinelec’s development. I am particularly pleased to hand over the general management of the company to him today. This internal promotion is in line with our vision of the group as a shared asset, based on the principle of subsidiarity," says Geoffroy Lacoin.
Drawing on the solid experience he has gained during his 12 years at ENAG, where he has until now held the post of Director of Operations, he will now be putting his industrial and managerial expertise to work in the development of Marinelec Technologies in Quimper.
In his new role, Frédéric Martin will be responsible for driving Marinelec’s continued growth, supporting the teams in their projects and strengthening the company’s position in both its traditional markets and new opportunities.
The strategic priority is to energise the sales and production teams and to develop target markets in the merchant navy sector in France and internationally, particularly in South-East Asia, Europe (primarily Spain) and the Middle East.
It is essential to expand the product range, particularly in addressable fire detection, whilst working with suppliers to diversify sourcing channels and address pressures in the markets for raw materials and electronic components.
"I am delighted to be joining Marinelec as Managing Director. I would like to extend my warmest thanks to Geoffroy for the trust he has placed in me. Drawing on the experience I have gained throughout my career across various industrial sectors and in a range of senior management roles, I will be putting all my expertise at the service of the teams at Marinelec. Together with our committed, talented staff, driven by a genuine spirit of innovation, we will continue to develop the company within the Francbord Group. In doing so, we will write a new chapter in the remarkable history of this Breton company, consolidating its position and paving the way for future success," says Frédéric Martin.
Strengthened governance within the Francbord Group
This appointment illustrates the Francbord Group’s commitment to strengthening synergies between its various entities whilst giving each the means to accelerate its development.
By drawing on the complementary expertise of Marinelec, ENAG and Ecomer Data, the group is continuing to restructure itself to meet the challenges of transformation in the maritime sector.
