A memorable celebration for a French leader

Last Friday, Marinelec Technologies proudly celebrated 50 years of expertise in marine safety, surrounded by its partners, employees and customers. The event was attended by Isabelle Assih, Mayor and President of Quimper Bretagne Occidentale, underlining the importance of this Breton company to the region.

An anniversary rich in symbols

The day was punctuated by a number of high points reflecting the company's values:

- The symbolic planting of a tree: a gesture towards the future and a commitment to the environment.

- Workshop tours: discovering French know-how and technical expertise

A Breton success story that has become a global benchmark
Marinelec Technologies has evolved with the times, moving from the supervision of ship alarms for small-scale fishermen, to advanced monitoring systems deployed on ships by the world's leading shipyards.

The company has achieved a number of milestones: creation of the SARL in 1989, first fire detection system in 1992, international deployment from 1997, opening of a subsidiary in Singapore in 2011. In 2022, the buyout by Geoffroy Lacoin marked a new era, with a stronger industrial structure and the creation of Ecomer Data in 2023 to support the energy transition.

Numbers that speak for themselves in 2025
The evolution of Marinelec Technologies is reflected in some impressive figures:
- 22 qualified employees (engineers, technicians, sales staff)
- 1,000 ships equipped each year
- 40% of sales from exports
- 100% French production, with strong roots in Brittany
- 15% of sales invested in R&D for continuous innovation
- 1000 products manufactured annually

Setting course for the next 50 years
Today, Marinelec Technologies equips everything from the smallest fishing boat to giant ocean liners, spreading its French expertise across the world's oceans, with 40% of its sales generated abroad.

Under the management of Geoffroy Lacoin, the Breton company has a clear ambition: "to be the benchmark partner for safer, smarter and more sustainable shipping". With the entry of BPI France and Merinvest into the capital, Marinelec Technologies has the means to write the next 50 years with the same commitment to innovation.
